MEMBERSHIPS
2020 memberships are now available at Mawson's, Paul's & Wynndel Foods.  You must be a member to use the Range or access our properties.  Fees have increased to reflect the costs of upgrading the Range and the increase in insurance rates, etc.  We still have one of the lowest fee schedules in Western Canada.  Rates are shown under the "Join" tab.

Crackerjack area:
The Crackerjack has new owners.  They have posted signs, but will continue to allow access for the rest of this season until an access agreement is finalized with the CVRG to take effect next year.

USING THE GATE SIGN:
When no one is using the range, the sign on the gate must read "inactive".  This does NOT mean that the range is closed.  When you enter to shoot, flip the sign to read "active".  If you are the last shooter when you leave, flip the sign back to "inactive".

IMPORTANT REMINDER:
You must be a member as of August 31 to participate in the Trophy Competition.  Memberships will, however, continue to be available all fall.

$2,000 REWARD OFFERED BY LOCAL HUNTERS
The Rod & Gun club approved, at their first opportunity to meet, a $1000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for the recent dog poisoning.  In addition, some members and local individuals have pledged a second $1000 reward.

TRAP SHOOTING:
Trap commences Thursday, April 23 and runs every two weeks throughout the spring and summer.  It is a great way to maintain your shooting skills, and is only $4.00 for a round of 25.  Break out your shotgun and bring some boxes of 71/2.  6:00 pm sharp.

SIOUETTE OR .22LR RANGE:
Contrary to a previous post, this venue must remain closed to all firearms until there is an official inspection of the work completed there.
The area may be used for archery only.

PISTOL RANGE  NOTICE:
Please follow all range safety rules and commands when shooting.

IMPROVEMENTS FOR RANGE CERTIFICATION
The Berms are as high as an elephant's eye (actually much higher).  Two years work involving lots of money and volunteer hours have been completed and should keep the inspector happy, leading to the opening of all venues.
Many thanks to the team of Tim Wayling, Les Buhr and Bill Chiste who coordinated this effort.  Also to Eli and Kevin Hedlund and Rory Sorenson who completed the work in a cost effective manner.

New Meeting Location:
Next year Club meetings will be held at the Creston Public Library.
7:00 on the first Monday, October to June.

MAWSON LAKE
The lake is receiving a lot more use for youth-oriented activities.  Be sure to check on Facebook to avoid over-crowding.  Call 428-4355 if you wish to book a group event.
The Club's investment in maintaining this site is really paying off for the community!

***DUCK LAKE.  The CVRG is working to improve cooperation with the Creston Wildlife Management Area by communication with representatives of Ducks Unlimited.  We have undertaken a joint project to improve access to Duck Lake at Sirdar.  A team headed by Matt Maddess is working to survey and build a safer trail to access Duck Lake.  Weather permitting, we hope to complete this for ice fishing this winter.

If you are a regular shooter, come out to our clean-ups and leave the range better than you found it.
